For one... my grandmother survived breast cancer... so we wore shirts for her to show our support!! She wasnt without tears very much this day...
Saurday we went to the Tech game at teh Cowboy's stadium.. Good times with the familY!

Kansas!

So today was the start of week 2 in Kansas! This last weekend me and 2 girls I met here took a lil roadtrip to Tulsa! We did lots of shopping and went to the hard rock for some gambling! We actually had a really good time! I am missing home... but only 4 more days! They have amazing fried chicken here in Pittsburg, KS and we went to Missouri and had even more fried food! I am certain that I've put on a good 10 lbs on this trip.
I am really excited about starting back to work... I should have a busy few weeks till I get into the swing of things. I have learned SSSSOOOO much- matter of fact I am convinced I should advertise something in the yellow pages and I have nothing to offer or sale. ha!


My baby brother was crowned homecoming king last week and I am a little sad I missed that...
My grandparents were in town, missed them too! AND Madden took 2 steps!!


So in a nut shell... I am missing my boys terribly, getting lots of uninterrupted sleep, had a few rita's, learned more that I ever thought I could in a week and a half, and I am trying to enjoy this crazy Kansas rain!



Also the day I got here I got some weird news from the doc. I had an MRI done recently and they spotted some brain swelling and fluid. Not sure the cause,but no tumor was spotted- whew! But if ya done mind say a lil prayer. If I believe in one things its the power or prayer! God is Good. Crossing the fingers that its not Chiari. Im going to be super positive between now and the next dr appt. We shall see!

Few pics from some summer getaways! Cant believe summer is OVER! We took my cousins and nephew to Sea World a few weeks ago! (Right after Abby's arrival). I think Jimmy and I had more fun than the little ones.


This last weekend we had a great time in Vegas celebrating Kolton's 18th bday! We went to Criss Angels "Believe" show which was AWESOME! I didnt know much about him, but Jimmy is a big fan- so we went to check it out! The first few days after being home Madden was super clingy. He had no idea what was going on. Mommy was gone and he started going to the sitter.
Mr Madden will be 10 month tomorrow. He is having tubes put in his ears next Friday- I cannot wait!


Oh- We are walking for Diabetes October 17th! Join our walk team! It will be Madden's first year to walk... well stroll! ha Its lots of fun and 1 in 3 children are affected by this disease... so it's important!

Busy!

We met with the builder this week! We reserved a lot in Las Colinas and should have a house built by February... I am excited, but I'm terrible at making decisions and picturing it all coming together. Ne who- I start work September 14th, which give me one more month with Madden! Thanks to Kelli we FINALLY found a sitter. After doing all this looking around I realized I should have had him on day car lists when I found out I was pregnant. ha! I am excited Madden will get to hang out with his cousins all day! I have enjoyed staying home these few months with Madden, but I am ready to get back to work. Ne who- I'm off to take a walk with mom, and the rest of my day will probably be consumed with laundry.


Going to Abilene this weekend to watch some Ranger football. Kolton has been coaching and enjoying every minute of it!

Madden is sick again:( Double ear infection. Dr mentioned tubes today- yuk! But its probably a great idea. We were supposed to go to a family reunion this weekend, but Madden was running fever before time to go so we decided to stick around. Its been nice, got some cleaning done, helped Kolton with spanish homework, and now relaxing!


Last weekend Kristi and Billy Bob married! It was beautiful and SO much fun! It was a weekend event.. rehearsal dinner, brunch, and makeup and hair in Stanton before the big ceremony. Jimmy has his wisdom teeth pulled just a day before, so my friends and the grandaws helped out with Madden! Thank Goodness for good people. Randi, Kim, Mom, Cindy... y'all are the best!


My brother is 18 years old today! I cannot believe it.. I am so proud of the person he has become. He is celebrating Rock The Desert style, and we are going to Vegas to celebrate on the 20th!
Its getting busy around here... I am started back to work and Jimmy is starting back to school soon! I am so excited for him... he is pretty excited as well, and so close to being done!


Kolton and I participated in a video testimony that will be shown at Stonegate on August 16th at 6pm. Kolton is super shy, so I was very proud if him for doing this.

Sick week...

Well its been a long week! Madden started throwing up last Thursday... and has not stopped:( I took him to the doc this morning and I had to get some stool samples- YYUUKKK!!! We are waiting for some results... I dunno whats wrong with the poor baby. My grandparents came to visit this last weekend. They got the bug, as did myself, Dad, and Jimmy! WHEW.. Dad is finally back to work... Since he broke both bones he had staples on both sides of his legs which he got removed last week.. so after leg surgery, stomach virus, and high blood sugars he is HAPPILY back to the grind. I think he might miss eating breakfast with Madden tho!


Abby is here today!! Think I will wait till Madden has been well for a while before I go around. I would DIE if she got sick!


Jimmy took vacation the end of this week and we planned on leaving for San Anton tomorrow for a lil getaway and to see my baby cousins and take em to Sea World, but not thinkin we will get to leave tomorrow since the Mad boy is sick.
When Madden isnt feeling well he ONLY wants Mommy.. that sounds cute, but a few days of crying when I pass him off has been tough. I realize I sounds completely insensitive.. but I'm just ready for him to be well:)



Dad has decided they will stay in Midland at least until Kolton graduates. So- Jimmy and I are more than likely going to keep our eyes open for a casa. We would still like to buy their house... but with things so uncertain we will probably get our own. Or maybe even rent until they sell. With the oil field wacky, things didnt go exactly as planned, but we sure have had a dang good time living here.. and I know Madden has! Maybe we should have waited just a LITTLE bit longer to sell our house and the timing may have been perfect. We arent in a rush, so we will take our time to find something we really want to stay in FOREVER ..ha. I hate moving.
Guess before we leave I need to learn to cook from Mom and Dad... I'm getting there!

LONG week!

Well- we had a great 4th with friends and family! I ate WAY too much. We celebrated Cindy's 50th bday Saturday and Sunday we took our lil guy to the ER. He thought he could fly, and flew from the couch to his landing, where his eye hit the coffee table. When i picked him up there was blood EVERYWHERE! Think thats what scared me so much.. once the blood was cleaned up it didnt look near as bad. UGH! Hope thats his first and last boo boo:(
As most of you know my parents were in Hot Springs Arkansas and my dad-e-o broke two bones in his leg. Dr Floyd did surgery yesterday.. so he is fixed up!
It's been an eventuful week. Oh and how could I forget... watched MJ's memorial service. I must admit- I am a pretty big MJ fan. He looked pretty dang scary, but i've been singing "beat it" all week. ha


I didnt realize (until Kobe Bryant pointed it out) that he held the Guiness Book of World Records title for “Most Charities Supported by a Pop Star,” for his contributions to 39 separate organizations. Kinda cool.


Ok- enought about a singer. Madden has a new favorite toy.. Daddy's boots:) AND- he has a new sleeping position (see picture). As he is approaching 9 months we have started feeding him more table foods... green beans, cereal, etc. Its the cutest thing in the world watching babies chew, because where do they learn to do that?

Kolton and Jimmy were watching an episode of COPS (LOL)... Kolton said "just shoot him", and thats what started the hysterical laughing! The video is from my phone so its not very good quality, but its just so funny!
Madden enjoyed watching the rain yesterday.. he was so relaxed- it was cute!

It's Monday!

So I have some cool family news- my little cousin Zachary will be in the movie "Shorts"... hits theatre's in August! I hear he is quite the actor. He does plays in Austin and I cant wait to catch one! Also- my cousin Daniel Northcutt just opened a restuarant in Austin. hotdogscoldbeer.com The same cousin that was a judge on Bobby Flay's showdown on teh food network! So if u are in ATX anytime soon, look it up! Ne who- Madden is snoozing, which means I need to be doing laundry and dishes!! Have a great week.

Granny got Madden a new water mat- HE LOVES IT!! He just laughs and splashes and tries to drink the water! Actually anything we do outside keeps him excited...

Father's day!

Last weekend we went to Summer Mummers with some friends! It is the funniest one I have seen... and it's always nice to get out of the house and let Madden have some time with other people. I am finishing up my painting this weekend. I decided to get craftsy and use a stencil to paint the hallway. Bad idea- it took me an hour to do one row! So, I may have to send Madden to Kim's for a day or something because so I can actually get some work done! He always has the best time over there.
I have a lingerie shower to go to this weekend... I LOVE GIRL TIME!!


Dad's day is this weekend- YAY!! It's Jimmy's first fathers day, so it will be a special day! Madden is one lucky lil boy... He has a wonderful father! The longer I am married to him the more great qualities I see.
I am so grateful for my Dad... He is truly a living expression of God's kindness! He has the most positive outlook on life of anyone I have ever known, I can only hope to be half the person he is. Thank you Dad!

Finally a crawler!

At Cara's baby shower two weekends ago, Madden watched the older babies pulling themselves up and decided he would give it a try. Since then thats all he wants to do. If I put him down for a nap there is 100% chance when i walk in to check on him, he will be standing up, peeking over his bed, with a big grin on his face... He thinks he is so big! I thought he had given up on mastering the "crawl", but today he crawled (with his hands) throught the kitched to Bailey's dog food and tried to eat some! Up until now he just kinda scoots or army crawls! As you Mother's know, this is such a big deal! SOO NEAT! He also saw his first turtle today while we were on a walk and was pretty intrigued. He also thought it was funny when Marley got away from daddy on the leash last night and tried to eat the neighbors 4 pound dog!

Quick update

Greenwood Volleyball girls won every game last Tuesday! 8th grade- 12th!! It's only been 2 weeks and they have improved SSSOOO much. Nikki and I are having a blast coaching em... Jimmy said from the stands I sound mean! ha- I assure you that I am not mean, just correcting mistakes. We only have 2 more weeks till the tourney and after 2 good weeks of practice I'm thinking we better win~
Off to check on Madden, he is in the pool with granny!
Oh and we got our first tooth!!

Had a busy weekend... I am SO thankful for Jimmy! He is so good !! Saturday I went to stanton for a wedding shower; he picked up a cake for me for another shower, ironed Madden's clothes for shower number 2, had the house spotless, mowed the yard, and managed to feed Madden pea's without covering him in them:) We swam this evening and listened to Madden laugh. Chicken just got off the grill, gotta go! Posted my FAVORITE Sally pic...

All play, no work

So I had planned on getting ALL of our painting done since we had a long weekend. Didn't happen... I wish i could say I would get to it this weekend, but I have 2 showers to go to and they are both out of town- darn! ha
If i dont get done painting we will never get carpet and I am WAY too messy to have carpet installed and then try to paint. Ne who- we had the nephews over to play on the water slide and swim. We had a great time!


Madden update: still saying DADADA- thats about it!
We get GGEEEE's sometimes too, but mostly dada. I put Madden on the waiting list at Midland College's daycare today- so maybe in 2 years i'll get him in! haha
I'm really just hoping my parents will get to stay in Midland, but even if that is the case i need a backup plan b/c my parents travel 24/7. We'll see how everything work out?! Oh and he is getting really good with a cup!


I'm VERY happy its summer time! It's going to be a great summer- so many friends are having babies and getting married! Madden is going to have so many inherited friends!
Oh and I am breaking Madden of his sleeping with mommy habit, seriously this time. When he is in our bed he sleeps about 10 hours, last night- not so much. He stayed in his bed till about 3:45 and his whine quickly turned into a SCREAM! Since Jimmy wakes up about 5 most mornings, I had to get him quiet. So- I am kicking Jimmy to the couch, so I can work on breaking the habit, so that (eventually) we all get better sleep- WHEW!! It's exhausting just talking about it. Check with me in a few days to make sure I am not a zombie. Thanks

Austin Weekend

We left thursday for Lakeway! Stayed the first night in a cabin and friday thru sunday at Lakeway resort... We had a great time despite it raining on our lake and pool day. We did get to swim friday evening (Madd loved the waterfalls and he is kicking around so good in that water). I think dad was looking forward to fishing, maybe next time. My parents got in late friday night so really only got a full day there. Dad was selected to be on a jury for a murder trial, and it is interfering with life! haha. It's pretty intersting... he doesnt give up much information about it, so i have been following in the newspaper.
Ne who- Mimi and Papa drove to see us Sunday and we got to eat breakfast with em! Mimi loves to snap pic's on the sunday mornings that no one gets dressed to drive home. Since we didnt get to play outside, we did lots of eating!
Carlos n Charlies, iron cactus (time 2), iguana's etc...
We had a blast with Lyndi, I hope she gets to go on more vactions with us so i am not stuck with Kolton and Jimmy! They just think they are too hillarious... ok maybe they are a little funny?!


Ne who- I need to start unpacking and washing clothes.
Looking forward to relaxing at home ... We have family birthday's, and get to meet baby Matalin Robertson this week!
